Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your Tanzania safari.

How far in advance should I book my Tanzania safari?

We recommend booking at least 3–6 months in advance, especially for peak season (July–October). For the Great Migration river crossings, booking 6–12 months ahead is advisable. However, we can often arrange last-minute safaris with 2–4 weeks notice depending on availability.

What is the best time to visit Tanzania for a safari?

Tanzania is a year-round destination. The best wildlife viewing is during the dry season (June–October) when animals gather around water sources. The Great Migration river crossings happen July–September. January–February is excellent for the calving season in the southern Serengeti. The wet season (April–May) offers lower prices and lush landscapes.

Do I need a visa to visit Tanzania?

Most nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. A tourist visa costs approximately $50 USD and can be obtained on arrival at major airports or in advance through the Tanzania e-visa portal (evisa.immigration.go.tz). We recommend applying online before departure to save time. We will guide you through the process when you book.

What vaccinations do I need for Tanzania?

We recommend consulting your doctor or travel health clinic at least 6–8 weeks before your trip. Generally recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and Yellow Fever (required for some travelers). Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised. We will provide a full health briefing document upon booking.

What is included in the safari price?

All our safari prices include: accommodation as per itinerary, all meals on safari (full board), private safari vehicle with pop-up roof, professional English-speaking driver-guide, all national park and conservation fees, airport transfers, bottled water throughout, and government taxes. Not included: international flights, Tanzania visa, travel insurance, gratuities, and personal expenses.

Can you customize a package for our group?

Absolutely — every safari we offer is fully tailor-made. Whether you have a specific budget, travel dates, parks you want to visit, or special requests (honeymoon, family with young children, photography safari), we will design the perfect itinerary for you. Simply contact us with your requirements and we'll get started on your dream safari.
